LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUEST POLICY

Red Light North

Red Light North is committed to operating a lawful platform and supporting public safety while respecting user privacy and applicable Canadian law.

This policy explains how we handle requests from law enforcement and government authorities.

1. Purpose

Red Light North is a neutral classifieds platform. We do not participate in user activities; however, we may respond to lawful requests from authorities where required to:

  • Comply with applicable laws;
  • Protect users and the public;
  • Investigate or prevent serious harm or illegal activity;
  • Maintain the integrity and safety of the Service.

2. Types of Requests We May Respond To

We may review and respond to lawful requests including:

  • Court orders, warrants, subpoenas, or production orders;
  • Emergency disclosure requests involving imminent harm;
  • Requests related to investigations involving illegal content, exploitation, fraud, or trafficking.

3. Data Preservation

Where legally required or reasonably necessary, we may preserve relevant account or posting information for investigation purposes.

Preservation does not imply wrongdoing by any user.

4. Information Disclosure

We only disclose information when:

  • Required by valid legal authority;
  • Necessary to comply with Canadian law;
  • Needed to protect individuals from serious harm;
  • Necessary to enforce our policies and prevent illegal activity.

We do not provide access to data without legal basis.

5. Emergency Requests

In situations involving imminent risk of death or serious physical harm, we may voluntarily disclose limited information to appropriate authorities where permitted by law.

6. User Notification

Where legally allowed and appropriate, we may notify users before disclosing information. Notification may be delayed or withheld if prohibited by law or if it could compromise an investigation.

7. International Requests

Requests originating outside Canada must follow applicable legal processes or treaty mechanisms unless Canadian law permits otherwise.

8. Fraud, Exploitation, and Safety

Red Light North may proactively cooperate with authorities in cases involving:

  • Content involving minors;
  • Human trafficking or coercion;
  • Fraudulent or harmful activity;
  • Serious threats to safety.
